My first attempts were... a little shaky. But with practice, I started to get the hang of it.
I'd text a photo of every nail art manicure to my mom. She was very encouraging! But pretty soon I knew I wanted an outlet for all these designs I was doing.
So I started an Instagram account. It was exciting and so much fun to connect with other ladies who were as pumped about this hobby as I was. They were all so nice and supportive.
I kept working on my nail art and my photos, eventually I started doing video tutorials. My Instagram grew a lot the first year, it was really exciting! I started getting free nail polish from famous brands like Sally Hansen and Essie, I couldn't believe it.
Since the Instagram algorithm changed, my account growth is much slower, even though I'm doing the same things. I've experimented a lot and worked really hard. There have been moments where I wondered if I would continue, because it's been frustrating to not see growth. However I realized I'm way too addicted to this to ever give it up.
For me, nail art is an escape, a meditation, a discipline. It's a way to express a feeling, a mood, a thought. It's my creative outlet. Some manicures I love and others I don't like at all, but either way I take it off every few days and start again. There's something freeing in that.
I hope these blog posts inspire you - if this hobby moves you at all, I encourage you to give it a try! If you need any help, please let me know by direct messaging me on Instagram or emailing me. I'm friendly and love to chat.
